My name is Andrea Gregg, and I am currently a senior at Concordia University at Austin. I am majoring in communications, with a concentration in broadcast journalism, in hopes of one day becoming a sideline reporter. I’m interested in perfecting the craft of all that is digital journalism, because I know that journalism is my foot step in the door to one day achieving my reporter dreams.
Ive wanted to be a sideline reporter ever since I could remember, and have been a sports fan since decades before I was born. I was told once that “covering sports is not just about the X’s and O’s. Anybody can read highlight, its about understanding the culture, whats relevant, current and reliable.” As mentioned, I have been around sports my whole life, my father was in the MLB, my mother played college basketball her whole career, and I myself went to college to play softball, so I feel as though this career dream of mine was destined for me from the start.
I am a student of the game, and look at every opportunity wether it be a casual run in, or a cooperate meeting as learning opportunities. I have an undying thirst for knowledge and am a very coachable individual.
