If your mom is anything like mine, then when you were little and asked for McDonald’s on the way home you probably heard those dreaded words, “we have food at the house.” Growing up I hated to hear that, but now as I get older I finally understand why my mother put more emphasis on eating around a table at home with the family, and I am forever grateful for it. I come from a huge Mexican family so family dinners were almost like tradition, and I have been in the kitchen ever since I was a toddler, so I decided to ask some family members what their opinions are on having kids in the kitchen, and what a home cooked meal meant to them.
